Presentation
Recently sustained diaphyseal fractures of the left radius and ulna which were managed surgically with dynamic compression plates. Sustained a fall onto the outstretched arm again, resulting in apparent deformity of the limb.
Patient Data
Age: 16 years

The dynamic compression plate stabilizing the fracture of the radius is broken with resultant ventral angulation.
Case Discussion
Mechanical failure of dynamic compression plates is uncommon, but can occur if excessive shear stress is applied to the long bones stabilized by them.
