Facial pain, runny nose, and right side ptosis.
Patient Data
A lytic-expansile mass-like lesion containing soft tissue-fluid density with height up to 20 mm and axial width 25 x 15 mm in the right side fronto-ethmoidal sinus cavity with expansion and destruction of the bones in the floor of the frontal sinus extended through the defect in the right orbital roof within right orbital cavity upper extraconal middle to nasal side with impression on related superior rectus muscle and eye uveo-scleral layer is seen. The eyes have no native lens.
Case Discussion
The case illustrates the non-contrast MDCT features of pathology-proved mucocele in fronto-ethmoidal sinus with extension within orbital cavity upper extraconal and has led to ptosis. The major cause of frontal sinus mucocele is frontal sinus outflow obstruction and which can be due to previous trauma.
