Presentation
History of head trauma two years ago. After that, she suffered recurrent attacks of meningitis.
Patient Data

T2-weighted coronal acquisitions show fluid tracking along the bilateral cribriform plate. Opacification of the bilateral ethmoid, maxillary, and right sphenoid sinuses.
An area of encephalomalacia is seen at the left frontal lobe, just above the left ethmoid air cells (sequela of the previous insult).
The rest of the brain parenchyma is normal.
Case Discussion
Considering the previous history of trauma, this is more likely post-traumatic disruption of the bilateral cribriform plate, which is the route of infection to the cranial fossa from the paranasal sinuses.
