Patient Data

Age: 56
Gender: Female

Global atrophy with frontotemporal predilection. No occipital atrophy. Significant more right temporal then left temporal atrophy.

Case Discussion

56 years old female who presented with both personality/behaviour change consistent with frontotemporal dementia of behavioural variant, but at the same time also has significant memory impairment evidenced by objective cognitive assessment. Classically behavioural variant of FTD does not have significant memory impairment and less so temporal lobe atrophy. Right temporal variant of FTD is consistent with the clinical finding and MRI appearance.
