Frontotemporal lobar degeneration

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

MRI demonstrates asymmetric bi frontal atrophy more to the left side with knife blade appearance of both frontal gyri. Marked atrophy of the anterior part of the cingulate gyri. Pronounced bitemporal and hippocampal atrophy more on the left side with dilated both temporal horns. Sparing of the pre and postcentral gyri are demonstrated as well.

Case Discussion

MRI findings and clinical data are in keeping with Frontotemporal lobar degeneration.
