Presentation
Recurrent dislocation right patella. Previous imaging demonstrates mal-tracking of the patella.
Patient Data
Tibial tuberosity osteotomy fixated by two screws. Expected post-surgical appearances with no complication identified.
Case Discussion
Fulkerson procedure is one of many surgical options for management of patellar instability. It involves osteotomy and anteromedialisation of the tibial tubercle with the aim of elevating the distal pole of the patella, and thus reducing contact of the patella with the knee during early flexion. Overall, it aims to reduce anterior knee pain and reduce degenerative progression. It is reported as successful in ~75% of patients.
