The incidental 2mm polyp shows histological features of benign fundic gland polyp

Case Discussion

Fundic gland polyps are very common benign polyps of the stomach. Whilst most are sporadic, there is an increased incidence with proton pump inhibitor (PPI) therapy and an association with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), although the latter appear to display a different mutation profile.
