A new breast lump after discontinuing breastfeeding her 10-month old infant.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
mammography

An oval, well-defined, heterogeneous lesion is seen in the upper outer quadrant consistent with a BIRADS II lesion.

ultrasound

A hypoechoic lesion with fluid debris levels.

Case Discussion

Galactoceles are benign milk-filled cysts. This lesion is generally discovered either during or shortly after lactation.
