Gallbladder agenesis

The gallbladder and cystic duct are not visualized in any sequence.
A 28 mm simple cortical cyst is present in the left kidney.
The remainder of the visualized abdomen appears normal.
Case Discussion
The features favor gallbladder agenesis, which is considered an extremely rare congenital malformation. Most patients are asymptomatic. However, jaundice may be present with a dilated common bile duct, and there is a high incidence of choledocholithiasis.
