Presentation
Known case of Hodgkin lymphoma, post treatment and on follow-up. PET scan showed activity in a cervical lymph node, gallbladder fundus, and left para-aortic lymph node.
Patient Data
Enhanced soft tissue mass in the fundus of the gallbladder.
Prominent para-aortic lymph node compared to previous scan, the largest one at the celiac trunk.
Gallbladder: Shows an isoechoic soft tissue mass at its posterior wall, inseparable from and has the same echo-pattern of liver
parenchyma. No evidence of biliary mud or gall stones. Normal caliber of common bile duct.
Case Discussion
This patient has a known Hodgkin disease stage IIIb under follow up and PET scan showed uptake in the fundus of the gallbladder, confirmed by US and CT to correspond to a mass like lesion. Cholecystectomy and histopathology revealed as adenocarcinoma of gallbladder.
