Abdominal pain and distension. Sepsis.

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

Distended gall bladder containing gas bubbles indicative of gas forming organisms not in the vessel wall but in the lumen.  Inflammatory change in surrounding fat.  Distended small and large bowel loops indicative of an ileus.
