Large well-defined rounded calculus projecting over the right 12th rib and upper pole of the right kidney (this is a known large gallstone). Right-sided PCN can also be seen.
Case Discussion
Radiopaque gallstones can be seen on plain x-ray film. They can show the following features:
- may be laminated (a.k.a. lamellated)
- may have a faceted outline
- may show a Mercedes-Benz sign: triradiate pattern of gas lucency.
