There is a bony avulsion from the distal attachment of ulnar collateral ligament of thumb. There is a corresponding defect in the base of the proximal phalanx. The avulsed ligament is deep to the adductor aponeurosis. There is no pseudomass formation abutting head of the 1st metacarpus. Asymptomatic left thumb shows normal ulnar collateral ligament.
Case Discussion
Ultrasound findings in case of thumb trauma show bony avulsion of the ulnar collateral ligament which is deep to adductor aponeurosis. It requires non-surgical treatment.
