Gamekeeper's thumb and Stener lesion

Fall placing his right hand, with pressure on the thumb and index fingers resulting in metacarpophalangeal pain, swelling and functional limitation.

Patient Data

Age: 34
Gender: Male

X-Ray and Thumb 15min post injury

The distal attachment of the UCL was avulsed bone from its site of insertion at the base of the proximal phalanx of the thumb.

Case Discussion

Diagnosis: Fracture avulsed ulnar colateral ligament (Gamekeeper's thumb) and Stener lesion.

Treatment: Surgery
