Ganglion cyst with partial tear of dorsal intercarpal ligament
Presentation
Pain at dorsal aspect of hand; history of weight lifting
Patient Data
Lobulated, septated cystic lesion, measuring approx. 4.5 x 7 x 8.6mm at posteroinferior aspects of capitate bone. Associated partial tear of dorsal intercarpal ligament is seen.
Partial tear of ulnar attachment of triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) is seen, predominantly involving styloid attachment.
Mild sprain of volar radioulnar ligament is seen.
Tendinosis of extensor carpi ulnaris tendon is seen with possible thin interstitial tear starting approx. 15mm proximal to ulnar styloid, extending distally for approx. 25mm.
Case Discussion
Findings consistent with ganglion cyst with partial tear of dorsal intercarpal ligament
