Presentation
Palpable mass at the dorsal aspect of the right wrist.
Patient Data
There is a 5 x 8 mm sharply-marginated cystic structure with a thin capsule is centred over the dorsal aspect of the capitolunate articulation, with a pedicle emanating from the distal fibres of the scapholunate interosseous ligament.
Medial and volar subluxation of the extensor carpi ulnaris tendon from its groove in the distal ulna could be due to the tearing of the ECU tendon subsheath.
Minimal effusion is present at radioscaphoid and intercrpal joint spaces.
Case Discussion
MRI imaging findings are consistent with the dorsal carpal ganglion cyst.
