Presentation

Difficulty with micturition.

Patient Data

Gender: Male
Modality: CT

Multiple small bowel loops in scrotum due to right indirect inguinal hernia. Compression of penile urethra.

Case Discussion

Pathology: 75-80% hernias occur in inguinal region. Indirect five times commoner than direct. Contents may include small bowel loops, mobile colon segments (sigmoid, caecum, appendix), mesenteric fat. Complications: incarceration; strangulation; intestinal obstruction.
