Multiple small bowel loops in the scrotum due to right indirect inguinal hernia. Compression of the penile urethra with Foley's catheter is noted.
Case Discussion
Pathology: 75-80% of hernias occur in inguinal region. Indirect five times commoner than direct. Contents may include small bowel loops, mobile colon segments (sigmoid, cecum, appendix), mesenteric fat. Complications: incarceration; strangulation; intestinal obstruction.
