Indirect inguinal hernia

Pathology: 75-80% hernias occur in inguinal region. Indirect five times commoner than direct. Contents may include small bowel loops, mobile colon segments (sigmoid, cecum, appendix), mesenteric fat. Complications: incarceration; strangulation; intestinal obstruction.
