Pathology-proven gastric adenocarcinoma with ascites and omental caking.

Omental cake refers to the infiltration of the omental fat by the soft-tissue density deposits and is often accompanied by malignant ascites. The most common cause is metastases from ovarian, gastric, or colon cancer, although tuberculous peritonitis, lymphoma, malignant peritoneal mesothelioma and pseudomyxoma peritonei may also give similar appearance.
