Gastric band induced megaoesophagus presenting as a neck mass

PH of left thyroidectomy. Now left neck mass, losing weight ++, no vomitting

Age: 60
Gender: Female

echogenic left neck mass

Oblique reconstruction showing oesophageal dilatation down to a laparoscopic gastric band - note stomach not distended. 

Lap band is shown with no contrast passing through. 

Case Discussion

The patient was disappointed when the lap band port was aspirated to treat her oesophageal obstruction as she progressively regained 20 kilograms in weight!
