Abdominal discomfort. the abdominal ultrasound was normal.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
ct

Well-defined sac-like outpouching arising from the posterior surface of the fundus and communicating with the gastric lumen, best seen on axial and sagittal images.

Otherwise, unremarkable CT scan exam.

Case Discussion

Gastric diverticula are rare and usually originate from the gastric fundus, commonly asymptomatic and detected incidentally.

Complications like ulceration, perforation, torsion, hemorrhage and malignancy are rare and an indication for surgical treatment.
