Complaining of sudden onset pain in abdomen and vomiting for 1 day.

Gastric volvulus with diaphragmatic hernia

Plain frontal radiograph shows a radiolucency in the lower zone of left hemithorax. On barium meal examination it was seen that stomach is rotated perpendicular to its long axis and part of it projecting into the left hemithorax. There is upward displacement of antrum and pylorus with downward displacement of the gastroesophageal junction (crossing over). These features represent a mesentricoaxial type of gastric volvulus with diaphragmatic herniation.
