Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST)

- There is a large solid mass up to 130mm located within omentum major on the right side, arising from the gastric pylorus and first portion of the duodenum.
- Prominent diffusion restriction with low ADC values of peripheral parts of the lesion.
- Areas of cystic degeneration are seen centrally.
- Pancreas, duodenum and right kidney are displaced posteriorly.
- There is no evidence of lymphadenopathy.
Case Discussion
Morphology and origin of this lesion are most likely to be a GIST. The large size with cystic degeneration and low ADC values are predictors of poor prognosis. Unlike the majority cases of GIST, this one presents in a young adult patient.
