Gastroschisis

Multiple loops of bowel are demonstrated outwith the abdominal cavity. The differential here is between omphalocoele and gastroschisis.
Case Discussion
Differentiating between omphalocoele and gastroschisis on plain radiography is easier that it might initially seem since gastroschisis represents herniation of free bowel loops and an omphalocoele is surrounded by a membrane (not seen in this case).
