Trauma to the knee with swelling ? meniscal tear

Radial tear of the medial mensical body, seen well in the sagittal and axial planes.

On a particular slice of the coronal plane (directly through the tear) it looks as though the mensicus is absent with a mere bright residual shell hence the term "ghost".
