Giant cell tumour of bone

Case contributed by Dr Aditya Shetty

h/o pain around left knee joint since 6 months

Patient Data

Age: 25
Gender: Male

A well defined lytic lesion is noted at the proximal end of tibia abutting the articular surface.

Case Discussion

Giant cell tumor(GCT) of proximal tibia.

Points in favor of diagnosis are firstly the lesion is abutting the articular surface and secondly epiphyseal fusion has occurred.

Giant cell tumors do not cross the articular surface.
