Giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath

Presentation

Left wrist pain and swelling.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

There is a 26*30*47 mm abnormal heterogeneous signal soft tissue mass lesion located at the distal third forearm volar aspect and radial side between the first extensor compartment and flexor carpi radialis ( FCR ) tendons.

The lateral extension of the mass below the first extensor compartment and medial extension between the FCR and flexor pollicis longus tendons is noted.

Extension of the mass beyond into the radial styloid bone tissue in volar aspect also is seen.

Case Discussion

pathology report:

Giant cell-rich lesion is consistent with giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath.
