Giant choledochal cyst

Presentation

Abdominal pain and right upper quadrant palpable mass at physical exam.

Patient Data

Age: 26
Gender: Female
Modality: CT

Giant cystic lesion is seen at location of common bile duct. Enlarged gallbladder and intrahepatic bile duct dilatation also is noted secondary to compression effect of giant cyst. There is no evidence of stone or visible enhancing mass at distal of common bile duct.

Case Discussion

Findings of the CT is compatible with giant choledochal cyst (Type I), which is causing bile duct dilatation.
