Presentation

Large occipital mass.

Patient Data

Age: 10 days
Gender: Male
mri

There is a midline occipital bony defect measuring (23 x 14 mm) with herniation of occipital lobes, cerebellar vermis, and right occipital horn through it and large surrounding fluid sac of CSF signal. Areas of high T1 signal in the herniated portion of the occipital lobes may represent hemorrhage. 

Low-lying tonsils with elongated 4th ventricle and moderate dilatation mainly of the lateral ventricles.
