Presentation

Abdominal pain followed by anticoagulation treatment.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female

Left iliopsoas muscle swelling with heterogeneous internal density associated with large well defined retroperitoneal hypodense fluid collection measuring about 10*15*25 cm started from the level of the left renal inferior pole with downward extension into the pelvic cavity next to the left adnexa

Subcutaneous hematoma and fat stranding superficial to external abdominal oblique muscle on the left side

Multiple and bilateral tiny renal cortical cysts with maximum diameter up to 10 mm

Thoracolumbar spine degenerative changes as endplate sclerosis and marginal osteophyte formation 

Case Discussion

Giant retroperitoneal hematoma, iliopsoas hematoma, and abdominal wall hematoma on the left side occurred during anticoagulation treatment for pulmonary embolism.
