Case Discussion

The patient was referred for evaluation of paraplegia secondary to multiple intra and extraspinal cysts. They underwent lumbo-peritoneal shunt. The MRI shows a large intraspinal, extramedullary cyst extending from L2 up to T11 level. In addition there was a 23 x 17 x 16 cm meningocoele to the right of thoracic spine. There were also small cysts in left side communicating with the spinal canal. This case has posed a challenge to the surgeons.
