Presentation
About 2 months prior to presentation, the patient had cut the skin in the lateral malleolar region of the left ankle. Suturing was done at the time of injury. The patient presented with local pain and a palpable nodule.
Patient Data

There is a linear echogenic focus (20 x 8 x 4 mm) in the subcutaneous plane of the lateral malleolar tip region. It shows a reverberation artifact. It is a foreign body. There is no local granuloma. Peroneus longus tendon shows hypoechoic thickening without tear/ tenosynovitis. Peroneus brevis tendon is normal. Anterior talofibular and calcaneofibular ligaments show normal echopattern.
Case Discussion
The case shows a lateral ankle region subcutaneous foreign body with a reverberation artifact.
Surgery revealed a glass foreign body.
