Glioblastoma: 24 hour post-operative MRI

Case contributed by A.Prof Frank Gaillard
Modality: MRI

Preoperative images demonstrating a large peripherally enhancing, centrally necrotic mass.

Modality: MRI

Selected images obtained from a scan 24 hours post surgery demonstrating resection cavity and resection of the enhancing mass. No convincing residual enhancing tumour present.

Case Discussion

This patient had a histologically proven glioblastoma

These images are merely to indicate the importance of having pre-and post contrast T1 images in the postoperative setting, to allow assessment for any residual tumour.
