The biopsy shows a moderately cellular astrocytic tumour.  The astrocytes have enlarged, elongated and hyperchromatic nuclei.  These are admixed with scattered foamy macrophages.  Mitoses are identified. There are foci of endothelial cell hyperplasia.  Necrosis is also seen, along with necrotic blood vessels.  The features are those of glioblastoma multiforme.
