Glomus tumour (glomangioma) in knee

Presentation

55 years -old man with a painful spot caudal to the patella.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male
Ultrasound

Ultrasound of the knee (selected image)

There is a hypervascular 8 mm nodule within the subcutaneous anteriorly to the patellar tendon. 

MRI

MRI Knee (selected images)

T1, PD-FS, and PD-ST images show a 8 mm spot with rich vascularization.

Case Discussion

The imaging features, although non-specific, bring the differentials of a glomangioma (favoured), angioleiomyomas, haemangiomas and other hamartomatous lesions of the subcutaneous tissue.
