Gluteal subcutaneous venous malformation

Presentation

Left lower abdominal pain for past month or so.

Patient Data

Age: 90 years
Gender: Female

The radiographer noticed a lesion at the bottom of the abdominal scan and decided to rescan the lower pelvis; thus, this scan was acquired during the venous phase.
No noteworthy abdominal pathology.

Highly vascular irregularly shaped lesion in the subcutaneous fat of the medial right buttock caudal to the ischioanal fossa, measuring 7.5 x 5.1 x 5.0 altogether. Virtually unchanged compared to a scan done 5 years prior. Most likely a venous malformation.
