Shortness of breath. Smoker

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Right upper lobe collapse. Right hilar mass.
Ipsilateral mediastinal shift and elevated right hemidiaphragm with juxtaphrenic peak.

Heart size normal.  Left lung clear.

Case Discussion

The Golden S sign, due to a central hilar lung malignancy causing right upper lobe bronchial occlusion, resulting in a right upper lobe collapse.
