There is a low-density heterogeneous spongiform mass containing gas bubbles with an external enhancing wall and a hyperdense structure (HU=1700) in the left iliac fossa. Inferiorly there is an extension of the surrounding inflammatory changes abutting the uterine fundus.
No abnormal bowel dilatation or wall thickening is noted.
Case Discussion
The features are suggestive of gossypiboma with the hyperdense metallic marker.
