Atraumatic pain.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

There is a ill-defined juxta-articular erosion of the lateral distal femur. Cortical irregularity of the medial proximal tibia may also represent an erosion. No soft tissue calcification identified.

Case Discussion

This patient subsequently had a joint aspiration which revealed negatively birefringent monosodium urate crystals confirming gout.
