Gouty tendinopathic change

Case contributed by Dr David Pryde

48 year old with known gout presents with lumpy swelling dorsum of middle finger right hand.

Patient Data

Age: 48
Gender: Male

Typical lumpy echogenic soft tissue deposits (tophi) in the extensor tendon with some hyperaemia.

Case Discussion

This patient also had multiple punched-out bone erosions and other soft tissue tophi.

Tendon involvement is rare in my experience.
