Presentation

Chronic anterior knee pain when running or climbing. History of ACL repair.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Unsharp "villous" contours and hyperintensity of the cartilage on the medial retropatellar surface. Joint effusion. No subchondral cysts or edema.

Case Discussion

These findings would correspond to chondral fibrillation on arthroscopy.
