Greater tuberosity fracture and labral injury

Presentation

Right shoulder trauma, limited movement and severe pain

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

There is minimal fluid located within the AC joint. Humeral greater tuberosity impacted fracture with bone marrow contusion and edema display high signal on T2 and FSE images. There is at least inferior capsular detachment from the glenoid, involving both the inferior and posterior IGHL (GAGL). Anteroinferior labral injury seen in axial and coronal images all display high signal on T2 and STIR images.

Case Discussion

Typical anteroinferior labral injury with an irregular border, intrasubstance abnormal signal and tear more than 3 mm.
This case study is unlike a normal labral variant such as a sublabral recess or sublabral foramen which has smooth margins and a tear that is less than 3 mm.
