Grey matter heterotopia and corpus callosum dysgenesis

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male

MRI demonstrating corpus callosum dysgenesis, colpocephaly on the right, and periventricular grey matter heterotopia extending from just above the trigone of the right lateral ventricle up to abnormal deep sulcus with abnormal sulcation, and prominent interhemispheric CSF space / interhemispheric cyst.

Case Discussion

Patients with epilepsy secondary to periventricular heterotopia present widespread changes in corpus callosum morphology, with the greatest volume reduction of splenium.
