Malfunction of a Groshong catheter in a patient on long-term TPN

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
Fluoroscopy

Successful and uncomplicated catheter gram which failed to demonstrate a fibrin sheath involving the distal portion of the Groshong catheter. 

Case Discussion

A Groshong line is a type of central venous access that is useful in cases that require long-term IV therapy such as TPN in this patient or chemotherapy.
