Presentation

Work up for chest pain. Known case of cirrhosis.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
ct

Gynecomastia is present bilaterally.

The left hemidiaphragm is relatively elevated.

In imaged portions of the upper abdomen, the liver has marginal nodularity consistent with known cirrhosis. Additionally, multiple dilated collateral vessels and splenomegaly are evident, suggesting portal hypertension. 

Clear lungs.

Case Discussion

Gynecomastia has various causes and may be due to hormonal disorders, drugs, tumors, and systemic diseases such as cirrhosis.
