CT brain with and without contrast

A low attenuating posterior fossa mass with enhancing peripheral nodule.

MRI brain with contrast

Confirms the solitary cystic posterior fossa mass with avidly enhancing peripheral nodule. No restricted diffusion.

Case Discussion

The case shows the classic location and imaging features of a hemangioblastoma - a pilocystic astrocytoma can give a similar appearance, but is usually found in younger patients.
