Haemangioma of great toe

Presentation

Bump on dorsal aspect of great toe - Few months. No pain / trauma.

Patient Data

Age: about 12 yrs
Gender: Female
Modality: Ultrasound

A compressible lesion with tiny cystic spaces is noted involving the soft tissue on dorsal aspect of interphalangeal joint of great toe. Vascularity is noted in cystic spaces.

No echogenic focus ( phlebolith ).

No extension to joint.

Case Discussion

Clinically this lesion was compressible with faint bluish discoloration favouing haemangioma.

Ultrasound findings favour haemangioma.

Surgical exploration and histopathology examination proved the lesion to be a haemangioma.
