Blood in semen post transrectal biopsy of the prostate. Elevated PSA.

Patient Data

Age: 55-60 Y
Gender: Male

MRI scan performed to stage malignancy as TRUS biopsy showed 1/12 cores, Gleeson 3+3 cancer

T1 hyperintense material in the right seminal vesicle (arrow) as compared with the left and T2 hypointensity on the right (arrow) as compared with the normal left hyperintensity. Appearances are consistent with blood degradation products (i.e. methaemaglobin).
