Presentation

Signs of portal hypertension and skin discoloration.

Patient Data

Age: 48 years
Gender: Male
Modality: MRI

Diffuse signal loss is seen in the liver in the T2-weighted images and especially the gradient echo image. Also note nodularity of the liver, a small amount of ascites and gastroesophageal varices; stigmata of liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension. Prognosis in this case is poor.
