Presentation
A 50-year-old male with chronic knee pain.
Patient Data
The intercondylar notch is widened with bulbous and flattened condylar surfaces and squaring of the inferior patellar margin. The right knee demonstrates periarticular osteoporosis (likely due to hyperaemia), symmetrical loss of joint cartilage involving all compartments, periarticular erosions, subchondral cysts, osteophytosis and sclerosis.
Case Discussion
The right knee has had frequent bleeding episodes prior to fusion of growth plate. This is associated with initially increased blood flow, premature fusion of the metaphyseal growth plate and leading to leg length discrepancy.
